Morning Coffee 09/10/2024

Good morning, everybody. Welcome to another morning coffee. Louis and I are here just for a few minutes. We're gonna turn it over to Kathy Trevino and Christina Griffin to carry us through. Just wanted to jump on just for a couple of quick minutes this morning to get started. We'll go ahead and get started right at nine zero three. Let's see here. Who do we have on the call today? What's what city and states are you joining from? Good morning from Kissimmee. Alright. Right down the street. Good morning, everyone. Kissimmee, Florida. It's so funny when people from not from our Central Florida see the word Kissimmee, they're like, kissing my mama. Kissimmee your mama. What is happening there? Kissimmee is how you say that. Yeah. San Antonio, Tampa, Virginia Beach, the Griffin Group. Good morning. How do you say that? Pflugerville? Pflugerville. Right? Pflugerville. Yes. Pflugerville. That's a tricky one. It's a tricky one. Alright. From San Antonio. Okay. We got a lot of San Antonio people. Cathy's bringing the Texas team Yes. This morning. Fantastic. Arizona. Alright. I love our early risers. Space Coast, Winter Garden. Lot of East Coast. A little bit of sprinkles. Colorado Springs. Alright. Dallas Fort Worth. Okay. Okay. So we got a little bit we're we're getting to central time zone. We're not quite West Coast yet, but, I think I there was mine. Mine's been one Nevada in there. Arizona, I think, actually is. I saw Denver in there. Denver. Yeah. That's true. Yep. Alright. Early riser. It's a good start to ride at nine zero three. Again, Lewis and I are gonna be in another engagement, heading out of here in just a minute. We're gonna be turning it over to Kathy Trevino and Christina Griffin to take you through today. I know she's got some actionable items. She's got her coffee. She's gonna set you guys up, for success, for today with things that she can be doing and kind of talking through, the items that Robert spoke about yesterday in preparing for what could potentially be some headlines next week with as interest rates continue to, kind of go down. And while the move technically has happened, we know that mainstream is gonna pick that up, with with the meetings that come out next week. But real quick, I wanted to just kind of, start with mindset wise, which is always a big thing for me, and I always talk about a lot of of, you know, breaking the glass ceiling, breaking those things that you felt were barriers to you or you felt was, you know, this is only what I'm capable of doing. And so, Ray Earl Jones, which was the the voice of sim was it king Mufasa? And, it's just a very recognizable voice throughout the entire industry. He was Darth Vader, and everyone kinda knows his voice. He passed yesterday, at ninety three years old. And, what's interesting to know about him was that when he was in grade school, he actually had a terrible stutter. And so when anytime that he was, you know, asked to read out loud in front of the classroom, kids would make fun of him because he had, you know, this stutter. And so to to think about him enduring that as a child and that limitation that he has a child, he had to go to speech therapy and all that to being one of the most recognizable voices, most iconic voices in the in the entertainment space. To me, it just shows that you literally can do anything that you put your mind to, anything that you put your, you know, your force into, you break that glass ceiling, you do the things that most people would say are impossible. It is possible. You know, I think about the journey that we're on here with, you know, LPT and how many people thought, oh, you guys will never be able to be a national like, there's just so many so much doubt that comes in. And, you know, it's hard to break through to that sometimes because sometimes you even start to feel like maybe we're really not capable of of doing this thing. But, you know, focusing on what we we set out to do, which was push the industry forward, help our real estate entrepreneurs grow their business and create a home where entrepreneurs can like minded entrepreneurs can collaborate and move their businesses forward together and learn from each other, I think is very much intact. And, you know, we've accomplished so much. So just wanted to start off with that positive message and, you know, Ray Earl Jones was, you know, I always appreciated his his work and, he actually even did, I I think a read over the entire bible, which is very interesting if you if you subscribe to that. It's it's fantastic if you've ever heard it. So, anyways, just wanted to say that this morning. I'll turn it over to to Kathy and Christina to Kaiji through today. Actually, let me so, Louis, since you hear any any starting words for you. I know. I I love I love how you started off with that because we do face a lot of adversity very frequently, whether it's adversity or challenges or difficulties or losses in our business. And it's very easy to basically dig your head in the sand and, you know, just feel very, you know, down when those instances happen. And and it happens very frequently in our business because we do have happen. And and it happens very frequently in our business because we do have what I would call high price tags. Right? You know, we have big commissions where it feels like the stakes are really big. It's like playing, you know, a big chip on the on red or black at the roulette table, and it's like a very big opportunity when it does happen, which means that when it doesn't happen, like, it really, really hurts. Like, how many times have we gone to a listing presentation and we leave there feeling so great? We did it. We accomplished our mission, and we don't get that phone call or we don't get that listing agreement executed. You know, now that buyer auditions are gonna be required. It's gonna be the same thing. You know, we may have instances where we're gonna show up. We think we crushed it. We leave there. We leave there confidently, and then next thing you know, we don't get that BBA executed. It happens time and time again. How many times have we reached the closing table and a deal's falling apart, right, and and things are happening and the seller aborts or the buyer aborts mission. And worst case scenario, the buyer loses all motivation to go purchase a house. Like, it really is deflating. But when those adversities happen or those challenges or those losses, like, we really gotta be as resilient as possible. Like, we really gotta reflect back at those moments. Maybe there were things that we could have done differently. You know? Maybe there were areas in which we could improve from. That's why it's so important to go into those instances, what we would call a purposeful and organized approach, because it gives you a way to look back to see where maybe areas need improvement or what areas need ultimately improvement. So guys, when you're out there and you're experiencing these challenges, like, it's very easy to shut down. It's very easy to, you know, feel defeated. But, like, look at it like a learning lesson. Look at it as a learning opportunity because it's it's just a new page in the book. Right? Like, you're gonna have another opportunity in front of you. And and learn from it. Learn how you can utilize those instances to really help you, you know, win the next time it comes around and kinda tweak and sharpen that knife. Awesome. Awesome. Alright. And we'll turn it over to Christina and Kathy. You have a wonderful day, and, we will see you guys throughout the week. Alright. Have a good day, guys. Alright, Kathy. I just love that. I love I love how they you know, coming in with such a positive message. I mean, we all go through so many things in our lives, whether they're, you know, ups and downs throughout. But this just like Lewis said, you know, that's how we learn. That's how we grow. That's how we become the people that we are and makes us stronger. And and, you know, you just you just you continue to grow. Life is just evolution. You know, we're constantly learning, and and it's, turned those those bad experience, I guess, maybe maybe if there are bad experiences into good ones. Just learn take the good out of it. There's always something good in everything. So I I I agree, and I share my story quite a bit, and I hope to, in detail with the brokerage soon. You guys can find my full story on YouTube. But what they said, I wanna piggyback on that. For those of you that do not know me, my name is Christina Griffin. I'm the vice president of partnerships and national real estate opportunities. And what that means, our cash offer program, the beta leads program, and many other amazing cool things that are going to happen. I have a huge background in, coaching as well. However, I've overcame a ton of adversities. I've lost two hundred and thirty pounds, my mom, dad, and sister, all died nine years apart, I've been through a divorce, however, I'm happily married, I've got three amazing kids, and life is incredible. So overcoming adversity and, I'd say I'm a pro at that. And the biggest thing I would say to each and every one of you is when you're super clear on why you get out of bed each and every day, no matter what's happening in your life, you can overcome. My husband had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago, So my day now starts at four thirty, so I can accomplish my, exercise goals and have breakfast with my nine year old, and I can focus on, making sure I win the day and I win the morning. So that's that's what I would encourage each and every one of you is get clear on what those goals are. I'm gonna share with you a few tips. If you guys have any any questions or you have anything you want us to hit on, make sure to post in the chat, But, that's why I get out of that every day is I'm clear on on the why. Yeah. Any thoughts on that? I think the main thing is is, you know, just like you said, you know, you have to have a you have to have a goal. You have to you have to know what your reason is, and, and that sets your day. You know? When you know what you're doing, you have, your day planned out or your week planned out and you know what your goals are, then it's easier to come in and just say, okay. I know these are the things that I have to tackle today. And as as you're checking them off, it's so amazing because you're like, yes. I thought I did that. I did that. And so it's it's it's it's inspiring so that you can continue to to add more things because, you know, every day, you got more things that come on your plate. And so, you know, they're they're you know? And sometimes it's okay if you don't complete them on that day. Mhmm. You know? Just know that your goals can change. You know? As you continue to to to go through your day and, you know, your your week, your month, your year, things change. And so it's okay when you start start your goals, you know, at the beginning of the year that in the middle of the year, hey. You may not be there, but you know what? You shift them. You you you learn how to pivot. And you and, it's okay if you don't get through every single thing that you had on your list because there's always tomorrow. You could always pick up and start, you know, fresh start and get going again. So yeah. I, a hundred percent. And, I just uploaded something in the chat. It's something I've been doing for years. Amazon has where you can actually get a book. It's called the time box method. So I love that Cathy said about setting clear priorities and, being able to check off what you're focused on. So that's really what it what it is, is on Sunday, I will actually pre write out the entire week, and I would highly recommend each and every one of you to do that. And setting clear priorities at the beginning of each day, you know, ideally you need to identify, three to five tasks you need to complete, those are your top priorities, but my favorite thing is a brain dump. It's where you jot down your thoughts, your ideas, tasks, and it gets it out of your head and it allows you to, like Kathy said, check the boxes so you can take the emotion out and stay focused on those clear priorities. And when you see it in front of you, it's so much easier to check the boxes off than than worry about who do I need to call. I don't know if any of you go through, hey. Here's my prospecting time, and it takes you longer to figure out who to call than how many people you're gonna call. And that this this is what helps me. Yeah. I agree. I mean, I think a lot of it is just sometimes you you know, we get bombarded when you look at your full list. You're not like, wow. I have a lot to do today or when you think about your day. But take it small bits at a time. You know? And one of the things that I do, I mean and this is one of the things I actually did yesterday. I had so much going on over the weekend, family here and, you know, they got sick over the while they were here, so I was taking care of them, all of this stuff. But I had a whole bunch of stuff just to catch up with. And and, my husband taught me this, but it's, like, everything you touch. Like, if you touch something on your desk, you have to put it away or you have to do something with it. And so, you know, by the end of the day, it's like, okay. My my desk was pretty much cleared. I didn't get it all done, but I got the majority of it done. And it made me feel good because I was able to go to sleep thinking, okay. I got so much done, you know, yesterday, and and now I can start off fresh and clean and and and ready to start the day. You know? So just, you know, the it's the small little things that you do sometimes. It doesn't have to be a big, big thing. It's just making sure that, you know, as long as you know that you did something that made you feel better throughout the day and you were able to accomplish, you know, even if it's just one thing. Yeah. I I exactly. And, that, I I love the, putting things back, and being able to have those little wins throughout the day. So many of you, hopefully, were on Robert's call yesterday. I wanna touch on that when it comes to your clear priorities for the day. Interest rates. Right? There we're going to have, I think it's the fifteenth, I believe, where we're gonna hopefully see some adjustments. And he recommended reaching out to everybody to have those conversations with them. So when you are writing down your clear priorities, I wanna encourage everybody, if you don't have a list of everybody you're going to call in your sphere, your investors, your past clients, your birthdays for the month, part of that brain dump too is writing down a list or or putting down a list of everyone you're going to reach out and share an LPT tool with. So from our new, buyer, amazing consultation, The if you're in LPT plus, the cash offers, but make sure you create that list. And when you have that list of people in front of you, it's gonna make it a lot easier to reach out. I heard Robert yesterday share your phones, a list of everybody in your phone and putting a list together. My favorite, favorite, favorite app, it's called CoEx export, where you can export your entire phone book, and you can work through organizing people inside your phone. So just a few tips. Yeah. I mean, that's super cool. I mean, to know that you know, those everyone got on your phone for a reason. Think about that. You put them in there at one point for a reason. You met them somewhere or, you know, you know them through friends, family, whatever it may be or, you know, they are your friends and family. And these are the people that already know you, trust you, and like you. You know? So these are their your warm your warm things. These are the the the leads that you can reach out to, and and, these are people that would wanna talk to you, would love to hear from you. So, you know, have the take the time. One of the things that I tell agents, especially when they're when they're coming in and they they say, I don't I don't have much to do this week. You know? Can you give me a plan? What do we do? And I say, well, just go in and go in your phone book and just go through all your a's today. Go through all your b's. By the end of the month, you'll have I have reached all of your clients. And, just reach out and say hello or reach out and, you know now we have all of these amazing tools that you can share with them and and, see if they have any real estate needs. Let them know what the market's what's happening in the market. You know? All of our markets are a little bit different as we are nationwide, but, you know, figure out, you know, what what your statistics are for your particular area. Send them something informational. You know? And, people wanna know what the market is. So it's it's always just a little little bit of touch, you know, how how things are going, and, they would love to hear from you. So be sure to reach out to them. I love that you said just reach out and say hello. A lot of people in your phone, guys, I know you haven't talked to them in a really long time. A few years ago, I revived the forty two hundred people in my phone. You want to talk about uncomfortable conversations, but if you just reach out first and say hello and start to have that dialogue, and then your second touch is a tool, a resource, interest rates, hey, are you curious about a cash offer on your property? That a hundred percent is gonna make it easier and a little less uncomfortable. Another one of my favorite hacks is Facebook. Instead of just posting on their wall for their birthday, part of your morning routine that you can schedule for yourself is sending them a private message, happy birthday, how are you and your family, question mark, And have that two way conversation with them. I love that. I mean, it's it's you know, people love to hear from you, and they when they when you when you get a private message, it's a lot different than just all of them on there. So I love that. Or just send them a text even. You know? Send them a a per a text and and wish them happy birthday or, you know, see your their their children, especially when it comes to their children or their pets. You know? It's it's so much more. It it goes a long way. So be sure you're doing all of those things. A hundred percent. And, I had a few people send some private messages on the book I mentioned. So it's more like a planner. It's called the time box method, but I download I uploaded a, printable version. I also fall follow personally the twelve week year. So if you're looking for something that's gonna help you win the day and really truly focus in prioritizing task and the most important task, it's the twelve week year. I there is an app that's called Blinkist where it will summarize, books in, like, fifteen minutes. I do one of those books every day when I'm walking, so if you would like, or ask chat GBT what the twelve week year is, it'll summarize it for you. But it's really a method to be able to break down your task and divide your day into blocks of time, and it will help you prioritize the most important task. Okay. Alright. Can you re alright, guys. I, I'll, reload this a few times. It is called the time box method, but, again, it is on Amazon for you guys. I love Sandra just said, video birthday messages are goal, and I love that. And we have a few that said that. So I highly recommend that, guys. A a simple birthday message, even with your your online leads, when you connect via video and you embed that into your convert your interactions, it is so much more authentic. Yeah. I agree. I mean, it's always nice to get a video, versus just a hello, happy birthday, you know, message. So, they get to see you and they get to hear your voice, and I think that really makes a big difference when you're actually reaching out to them. They know that you put a little bit more effort into it as well. So there's so many amazing things out there that you can do that make it easy for us to be able to do these types of things now. So, you know, goodness. You know, back in the day when, you know, when I started, we didn't we didn't have a lot of this stuff, but, you know, social media has made it a lot easier for us to be able to just even just pick up our phones and create a quick video and send it out to people. So make sure you're taking advantage of that. I, I love the back in the day. So I'm twenty years twenty one years license. How about you, Kathy? Twenty seven years license. Okay. Okay. So I miss I miss the books. So I we were we were live on the MLS by the time I became. So I Sandra, I love that you mentioned the Ford method, a hundred percent. Family occupation recreation dreams. It's going to allow you regardless if it's people that you don't know, your your unmets and your mets, it's going to allow you to definitely connect with them on a super high level. The name of the tool that I use to summarize books, it's called Blinkist. So Blinkist is an amazing, amazing tool. I recently just did all the Brene Browns. I've done all the John Maxwells. They have different tracks inside of it. I think it's a little less than a hundred dollars for the entire year, but the amount of books, I also saw someone mention The One Thing, it definitely, it's it's a great reminder if you're a reader. I I read my devotionals in the morning, but I always listen to the books, on one point five when I do my first walk in the morning. So, I I love it. Right. Alright. I call it cliff notes of books. That's exactly, Sandra, what it is. So, I I would love to as we talk about productivity and everyone's plan, ideally, everybody the a lot of thing what many of us miss is that end of the day wrap up. Right? So it's where you look at everything you accomplished, any task that you need to be able to address. Many of us are on the road, so it also allows you that's why I do the time boxes. There's actually a place to write everyone you speak to. So, I I would highly recommend if you guys do not have just a few minutes at the end of every day, even if it's just five minutes, reflect on how many people you called, what you did, if there's any task that you need to accomplish, and look at your schedule for the next day to make sure that you do not need to make any adjustments. That's just a little productivity hack that some of us forget, where we need to be our own CEO and our own boss, and and and really hold ourself accountable to the things that we do. You should know at the end of the day, I spoke to ten people, I have to send two birthday cards, I tomorrow I need to get ready to go door knock, and drop my active marketing plans at x neighborhood, it's gonna really help you with your productivity. Yeah. I love that. I like I like what you stated about, you know, you're your own CEO, and we are. We're all running our own businesses. We're all having to get up every single day and run our business, and we're all a little bit different. And so it's okay to do things differently because what works for me may not work for you and vice versa. But we and that's why we have so many amazing tools out there. But I love the fact that you said, you know, when you get up and you prepare, I think preparation is it goes a long, long way. Some people run by the seat of their pants, and I'm sometimes that person. But I also when I noticed that I do prepare, that I get so much more done because I'm more focused. I'm I know exactly what I'm going. I know what my mission is. I know what I have to do, and it just makes me, get more done, throughout the day. So I love that. I I, I don't know if we're supposed to upload. I call it notes, so I'm I'm probably breaking all the rules today. I have some notes I prepared. If you guys are at a computer or on your phone you wanna save, it basically is just some last minute productivity hacks for you guys to, reflect on some of the things that, we, talked about today. So, Anne, if someone can compile a list of the books that's throwing out. For me, it was just time box and twelve week year. Kathy, I what's your do you have any favorite productivity book or hack? No. I I, you know, I I'm kinda one of those kind of fly by the seat of my pants type of people. But I do. I just I think about it in the in the at night, I do. I go I look at my calendar. I live on my calendar. One of the things is I live on my calendar. If it's not on my calendar, it's most likely not gonna happen. But I put everything on my calendar, and I I make sure that the, you know, the day before, two days, the week before, I'm looking to see what do I need to do, what do I need to be, where I need to be, you know, who do I need to con connect with, and make sure that every single appointment is on my calendar so that that way I'm not missing anything. You know, you get busy throughout the day, and sometimes, you know, if you don't put it on there, it's unfortunate. You may miss it, and you definitely don't wanna do that. So, but I do. I I like listening, you know, to podcasts as well and and just, you know, music. It just kinda keeps me keeps me sane as as I'm going through, keeps me happy. Those type of things. I I love you said I'm the fly by the seat of my pants. We're all different. And and here's the biggest thing, every single one of you, you need to know what works for you. And if you don't, try and test things. Whether it's every day I'm going to do a certain task to to figure out if it works best for you. I didn't always get up at four thirty in the morning. I I'm asleep by eight thirty. It it you you have to understand that all of us are different. A lot of times we compare what other people do to what we do. We have to do what works and what's gonna help you be most productive. So I love Kathy said she listens to music, a lot of you are sharing different tips in the chat, and that's part of I think what these morning coffees are. It's the inspiration that you're not in this alone. We're here together, and and we're here to help you grow, and we're just here to help you, have the sense of community for us all to work together. Yeah. For sure. I love this. I mean, these are just truly amazing. I mean, the the what I love about it is that I don't know of any other company that's doing this every single, you know, week. We're we're getting up, and we're bringing you value tips, you know, just to even get to know you better. You know? And y'all to get to know us as as, you you know, as people, as who we are. And, you know, it's amazing that we have that opportunity because a lot of times you don't. You just see somebody behind a desk or behind a screen, and you don't really get a chance to know them. So I love being able to do this and be able to share, be able to get to know agents around the country. This is amazing. And to see so many people on early in the morning, you know, and having a cup of coffee, you know, it's it's really nice. It's it's better to share coffee with others than to do drink it by yourself. So I I agree. I agree. So I see the the, last few posts about time blocking stresses me out. Guys, that's why I followed the twelve week year. It's actually a task list instead of time blocking, but I'm sure you can hear that I am a very high c, and my high c screams when I when I speak. Just know that you have to do what works for you, but I would recommend anyone that, gets stressed out about time blocking, just write your task and, it will definitely help you stay focused on the right things. So alright. So there are so many amazing nuggets. Alright. Love it. Taskless work. Perfect. Kathy, I I think, we are any last, thing you'd like to say before we wrap up today? I just wanna say everyone have a great Tuesday. It's gonna be an amazing rest of your week. Get out there and, do something maybe that you didn't have on your list and, learn how to pivot. It's it's the way of life. Things happen, but just kinda roll with it. You'll get through it. Stay positive. Yes. Have a great day, guys. Please know that we are here to help and support you. Win your day. Get clear on your goals. We're gonna help you continue to grow, and just so thankful to be in each and every one of your worlds. So have a great day. Great day. Yeah. Bye.
